Adult Karate-Jutsu

"With enough time, anyone can master the physical.

With enough knowledge, anyone can become wise.

It is the true warrior who can master both ...and surpass the result."

-Tien T'ai

House of the Samurai students continue centuries old traditions of the martial arts of Okinawan, Japan, and China in a structured and progressive learning environment.

Our martial arts foster a balance between mind and body.  Paraphrased from centuries-old precepts on combat1, there are three paths in the martial arts:

  1. The superficial arts that lack depth and understanding are like a dance.
  2. The physical arts that focus on fighting and build aggression; this leads to self-destruction.
  3. The virtuous ways which foster a balance between "martial" and "artistic" ways.  Students of this path act with swiftness and grace.  All challenges seems to bend to their effortless will.

If you enjoy learning in a structured and disciplined environment and you are interested in embarking on a challenging and rewarding journey, House of the Samurai is definitely the school for you.  House of the Samurai is not an "activity" center.  We are a professional, full-time martial arts school.  Our students gain an education in martial arts that includes philosophy, kinesiology, strategy, and exciting self-defense techniques while getting into great shape!

All students initially enroll on a one-month trial basis.  The trial period gives you an opportunity to see what House of the Samurai is all about and how training can positively affect your everyday life.  At the same time, we carefully screen all new applicants in order to maintain the sanctity of our environment.  The cost for a one month probationary membership is $99 including your uniform.  We are not the "cheap school," nor are we the most expensive.  House of the Samurai is distinctly different from other schools in that it is defined by the quality and content of the martial arts we teach and practice.
